Health Potion Herbal Tisane

About Our Anti-Inflammatory, Pain Relief Tea

There's an old adage that goes something like "there's nothing a cup of tea can't fix". And while we absolutely believe it's true that there's nothing a good cup of tea can't make at least a tiny bit better, we also believe in aiding the cause so to speak with teas and herbal tisanes designed to address specific issues. ...Which is why we paired up with a local nutritionist / herbalist to design this pain relief tea.

Our Health Potion herbal tisane is a warming blend of herbs that may help to reduce pain in various areas of the body. The combination of ginger and turmeric in this tea makes for a potent pain fighting duo. It also happens to be teeming with immune boosting herbs that are anti-inflammatory, a 2-for-1 tea that can be used year round to alleviate ailments and improve immune health.

Elderberries - Pain Relieving, Anti-Inflammatory Immune Booster

Elderberries are well known for their immune boosting benefits. But elderberries also contain anthocyanins, known to reduce inflammation. The anthocyanins in elderberries work by inhibiting the production of nitric oxide by the body’s immune cells, which serves as a signaling molecule that triggers inflammation in the body in response to injury or disease. By tempering this response, pain and swelling can be relieved. Elderberries may also be used to treat dental pain and can help with sciatica and neuropathic pain.

Alfalfa - Anti-Inflammatory Pain Reducer Great for Arthritis Symptoms

Alfalfa is a perennial plant that has long been used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of health conditions – including diabetes, high cholesterol, arthritis, urinary tract infections, menstrual problems and many more. Its potent anti-inflammatory effects suppress the production of inflammation compounds known as cytokines. This reduction in inflammation helps to reduce pain and provide relief from inflammatory disorders like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Echinacea - Anti-Inflammatory for Chronic Pain & Immune Support

Recognizable as the American coneflower, Echinacea is an herb that belongs to the daisy family and is touted for its many health benefits that range from battling inflammation to improving collagen production. The compounds in echinacea are helpful in reducing inflammation, chronic pain, and swelling. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a potent tool for pain relief. Research shows that consuming echinacea reduces inflammation, helps heal wounds in the body, and reduces muscle soreness. It’s also wonderful for immune health support.

Turmeric - Powerhouse Antioxidants for Pain Relief & Immune Support

Turmeric contains the compound curcumin, an antioxidant that helps to protect the body from free radicals that cause oxidative stress and damage to the cells and tissue. It has long been used medicinally to treat the body for various pain ailments, including arthritis, gastric discomfort, migraine headaches, and post-surgical pain. It also happens to be a wonderful herb for immune health.

Ginger - Anti-Inflammatory Digestive Aid

Ginger root has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and aids in digestion. It has also been shown to lower blood sugar, help reduce muscle pain and soreness, and ease indigestion. The active compounds in ginger known as phytochemicals have traditionally been used to relieve motion sickness, morning sickness, general nausea and upset stomach, menstrual pain, migraine headaches, arthritis and inflammation of the joints.

Cloves - Reduce Joint & Muscle Pain

Cloves may help to relieve pain associated with arthritic inflammation and toothaches. Historically used as a topical treatment for toothaches and gum inflammation, clove can be used in teas to reduce inflammation of the joints and reduce pain associated with the joints and muscles.

Devil’s Claw - Reduce Pain & Inflammation from Headaches, Arthritis, & Back Pain

Devil’s Claw is a plant that has been used for centuries in traditional African cultures to help relieve inflammation. Native to southern Africa, it has been used to treat pain, liver and kidney problems, fever, and even malaria. The dried roots were introduced in the early 1900s to restore appetite, relieve heartburn, and reduce pain and inflammation.
